I've had such a bad night. Ella woke every hour or so it seemed. And that was after I'd fed her for a few hours up until 10pm...
Once she even woke half an hour after she'd fallen asleep at the breast.
She doesn't cry when she wakes up and wants food, she grunts. And kicks her arms and legs ferociously, trying to manouvre herself towards that nipple! Like a little wild animal. Sometimes I really have to struggle with her when I try to guide her to my nipple, cause she just tosses her head from left to right and arches her back with a force I wouldn't have expected from such a fragile, floppy little baby. I'm glad she's got such strong instincts, but it makes me feel even more like a big feeding machine.
My sleepless night ordeal ended this morning with Miss L pooing all over the change mat cover, which I had just got off the washing line! It was the sign it was time for a little cry, which made me feel better at least. I actually felt like throwing baby in the bin: it's broken, I want a new one!
Went for a walk to the creek after that just to get out of the house for a while. And at least she sleeps in the carry pouch...
Now I'll upload some more photos and then I'll spend the rest of the day in bed, I think. Until my good friend comes to visit. She left on a holiday the day Ella was born and I'm so looking forward to finally introducing her to her.
