I saw this the other day and loved it. I was so disappointed when it finished and wanted more. The acting is fantastic and the storyline is engaging and anything but cliched.
It's fairly old - I think it was released in 2002 - But if you can find it at the DVD shop I highly recommend it.

This was truly dreadful. Judging from the loud snores I could hear around me, others agreed. Even DS said 'I guess it was ok' which means he thought it was pretty ordinary too. So boring! I drifted off myself for a while, but didn't snore. I'm looking forward to 'Old Dogs' which comes out on Boxing Day.

Does anyone have one? What is a good one? I'm looking at a Cuisinart one, that's reduced to $89.95 (plus $10 shipping) from $118.95. It says it makes ice cream in 25 minutes. But there seems to be a huge range out there, and huge price differences. This cuisinart one seems like the lower end of the mid-range prices and I believe cuisinart is a good brand.

I got so annoyed this morning when I watched the ABC2 news about the new NSW Premier and the caption read: "Mother of two Kristina whatever-her-name-is, etc"

Are we back in the 50s? Is a woman really defined by if she has children or how many, regardless of her other achievements? I don't recall hearing them introduce Rudd as "father of two" when he got elected?! I don't mind it being mentioned casually to provide some background on people in the...

These have been a very positive thing for dd. I think just sharing a worry can help reduce it and I love that she has a extra little outlet for her worries if she doesn't want to tell me about them.

I recently discovered Tasty Bite meals from the supermarket - They are vegetarian (some vegan too) AND gluten free, they don't have heaps of crap in them, they're really yummy, they're only $4 each and they serve 2 people (with rice)!!!
I found them at woolies but haven't looked anywhere else. I wonder if you can buy them in bulk?

Helen was kind enough to send me this book to read. I actually had not expected much of it. Most parenting books annoy me or make me feel guilty or just make me roll my eyes because they only state the obvious or are too theoretical and airy-fairy.

Think there was a discussion on this some time ago so thought I'd post this update....

Australians will now be getting extra iodine in their bread, as the mandatory iodine fortification regulation comes into force today.

New standards which force bakers to use Iodised salt instead of regular salt have been developed because of a growing iodine deficiency.

NAPCAN: Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect

Last year in Australia over 30,000 children were abused - and that's just what was reported. NAPCAN is currently campaigning to bring child abuse out into the open. They are asking for supporters to fill out a survey - it takes less than 5 minutes and can be found here.

Our Credit Union has finally ticked me off. When I moved in with D, I changed over to the same bank as him and we have a joint account. The Credit Union has always had Debit cards and after a while I decided I really liked using them. Just like a credit card, but without all the fees. No yearly fee to have it, no interest to worry about, because we are always using "OUR" own money!

Now, they have introduced a new card (which we have yet to received, but as ours expire...
