Ella's Disney fairy wands. For some reason Ella has 3 of them! They make a "magic" sound and light up when you press a little button. The button is so sensitive that it'll go non-stop if I put it in my bag. And yesterday morning Ella was lying on one in bed and it made the bloddy sound for about an hour! Didn't wake her up, just annoyed the hell out of me. I've tried to hide them, but she does always keep track of her collection of fairy wands.

There seems to be a lot of people out there stressed by work today, added to that are the ever growing pressures of parenthood, moving house, organising holidays, camping at festivals, rising interest rates, child support payments, child illnesses, the economy, global warming and who's going to win American Idol!!!!!

For some reason I'm still up at 3.45am Saturday morning. I decided to play the TOPF funtrivia game and managed to beat Soph's record by 1 second!!! 10/10 in 30 seconds. Apparently clarity of thought is not a problem in the wee hours of the morning. I did have a couple of lucky guesses. I dunno if this achievement makes me super cool Or super geeky

While visiting a friend recently I heard her talking about a place that I assumed was a Pub or restaurant or similar, when I asked her to clarify she said it was a town, and sure enough it is. The name: Come By Chance.

I thought, are you kidding? Then it got me thinking about a few other names of places that Id come across over time that amused me, like Humpty Doo, or Stockinbingle, or even Combo (say that without thinking of KFC!) and Innaloo for those in WA.

We sometimes focus on the negatives a lot, I know I sure do and it can be overwhelming. So I think it's good to reflect on something positive for each day. Put things into perspective a bit. My positive for today is:

Helping a friend through a tough time with a guy she is seeing. Just giving her a bit of advice and being there for her. Listening to her and letting her know her feelings are valid and she deserves to be treated with respect.
